Got up early this morning and was on the road by 3:30am Central time. We had lunch in Cloverleaf, Indiana. We enjoyed a wonderful hamburger and hand dipped onion rings. The burger was open flamed grilled and so good. Then drove to Indianapolis, Indiana at Quilt Plus and visited her. This was a modern quiltContinue reading “Day 1”

Craft Fair
We are enjoying music, the smells of funnel cake, kettle corn, and so much more. It’s a little hot right now, but nice breeze. Alicia had shirts made for us. I love them.
Tried something new
I have been making peanut and pecan brittles and decided to make something a little special for Alicia’s good friend. She and her family have been adopted by us and we love them to pieces. For her hubby I made peanut/rum brittle. I know the alcohol cooks down so I used only a 1/4 cupContinue reading “Tried something new”
Starting new project
I have been getting ready for our vacation that is in 3 days. I have made my lists and have the important things lined up. Clothes, list of Quilt Shops, and a hand applique project ready for the time in the car. The rest will come together and that is good. I found a cuteContinue reading “Starting new project”
Am in a rut

Time to get serious
I have been patting myself on the back for being organized and ahead of schedule being ready for the craft fair and then vacation. Yesterday I made 6 lbs of pecan brittle and feeling pretty proud of myself. I will never do this again, being over confident. Lady down the street brought down a babyContinue reading “Time to get serious”
Visiting New England States
We will be taking off to the New England states in a few weeks. While Hubby is planning our route and things to see, I am planning the quilt shops to visit. I just wish he would see to letting me take my sewing machine with us, but that is a little too much. WhileContinue reading “Visiting New England States”
Techniques for Hand Quilting?
Before I started hand quilting this Illusion Quilt I wasn’t sure how to proceed. I did some reading up on it and decided to do the “rocking” stitch. My questions for those who hand quilt are 1.) What finger do you put your thimble on? 2.) How did you get used to using the thimble?Continue reading “Techniques for Hand Quilting?”
Trying New Things
This week I have stepped outside my comfort zone. I have been reading on hand quilting and decided to hand quilt my illusion quilt. Thanks to my friends on Facebook Friends of Farmhouse Quilts and my own site, Facebook One Creative Family I finally decided on the color for the quilting. This has been moreContinue reading “Trying New Things”
Fall is around the corner
As I watch the weather get cooler and the trees starting to change colors I look forward to the fall. This is one of the prettiest times of the year. Soon we won’t be mowing they yard, but we will be raking leaves, then comes the snow. With fall we see such beautiful oranges, red,Continue reading “Fall is around the corner”
