I started on a new Memory Quilt yesterday. This is one made from Denim. The person I am making this for sent a photo of what they liked. I took 2 days to figure out How to achieve this look. It had 9 different sizes to this. I made a few changes and now this is only about 1/8th finished.

This #1 of 6 to be made. I am really enjoying seeing how these turn out. Maybe now I can make my goal of getting them done by end of May. Cross your fingers for me.
Now for the old memory. When Hubby and I were married 1 year his cousin made me a “family” cookbook. She took recipes from both of her grandmothers and wrote them in a spiral notebook. Before computers. I will be sharing a few of the ones that were lost on this very naive girl from a small Texas town moved to Missouri. (A whole new planet). Here are a few for today.
For Exeyna, Boils, and etc. 1 1/2 pounds fresh mutton talloce(how she spelled this and don’t know what this is) 1 1/2 pounds rosin 1 pound beeswax 1 ounce hemlock Combine mutton, sosin, beeswasx, cook until strain then cook down for 30 minutes. Take off stove and beat until cool. Then add hemlock and put in cans. (This was recipe #24.
This was so funny to me. The recipe before and after this one were Apple Flapjacks, and Potato Candy. Then were recipes for Cabbage worms, and Paint and Varnish Removal. Tomorrow I will post my Daddy’s recipes.
Have a great day and find something to laugh at.
