Super Saturday

What a beautiful day today.  Sunny in the high 60’s and my yard is so green.  Worked in the yard, grilled some ribs and a brisket, then worked on a wall hanging.  We were to donate something to the First Responder’s  Silent Auction.  I decided to make the Arizona  Sunrise by Deb Karaski.  It is paper piecing and is fun and going well.  When I finish this I may have to make one for myself.   This is a reminder that tomorrow is the last day for the giveaway.  Good luck.IMG_20160910_193710136.jpg

Friday

Today brings lots of fun things, and not so fun things to One Creative Family.  Got to spend some time with some wonderful people who I worked with.  It was fun seeing them and and all the kids running around in a middle school.  I do miss the adults but am glad I retired.  A new quilt is calling my name.  I will start on a Snowman attic window wall hanging for Christmas.  I love decorating.  Do you?  What are your favorite Christmas season traditions?  My favorite is having the grandkids decorate the tree Thanksgiving evening.  There is always so much giggling going on.  We have 5 granddaughters.  One grandson who is in his 20’s and doesn’t participate.

These are 2 of my Christmas wall hangings.  The decorations on the tree are pins and angels that were my mother’s . Fun to have her with us during the season.  I will be adding some of my Mother In Laws to the tree this year.  We put battery operated lights on it.

Super Saturday

Got for of the shirt aprons done today.  Getting ready to sandwich a lapquilt and work on some Potato Bags.    Today I will be adding a few pictures from our festival.  It was fun and a beautiful day to be out and walking around.

Sorry for the blurry picture.

I have a friend who had triplets, Alicia made these cute hats for them.

Hear no evil, See no evil, and Speak no evil.  Too cute.

Fun Fun Friday

Today starts the beginning of a 3 day celebration in Independence, MO, the hometown to Harry S. Truman, who was the 33rd President.  The celebration consists of a carnival, the whole downtown is reverted to horse drawn covered wagon rides, LOTS of food, crafts, games, music, and you will see people walking around dressed in the 1800’s fashions.  This celebrates the beginning of the wagon trains to Santa Fe, California, and Oregon.

Today we will be spending the afternoon walking around looking  at all the craft booths, smelling the kettle corn (pop corn cooked in big cast iron pots over an open fire with a hint of sugar)funnel cakes, (pancake batter fried with fruit or sugar and cinnamon on top.) BBQ, and so much more.

I will post some pictures when we get home.

Today I have a lap quilt top to sandwich and start quilting.

Sending all of you in Florida good and positive thoughts with the hurricane and rain and flooding.  My heart goes out to you.
