All finished

Got the 2 wall hangings finished.  Now a day and 1/2 till we have to set up at the fair.  I would like to take this time to say thank you all for your positive comments and for sharing your wonderful talents.  It feels wonderful to finish a project and also a little sad.  Sad because now I need to decide what to do next.  We will have to see what comes along.

Wonderful Surprise

Today as I went to the mailbox I found a wonderful surprise.  Teje sent me my wonderful Needle book.  I don’t know what I was more excited about, the needle book, adorable or the envelope with the stamps.  IMG_20160919_162706405_TOP.jpgSo wonderful.  If you haven’t already, please check out https://nerospostbox.wordpress.com/  You won’t be sorry.

Thank you so much Teje, Nero, and Hannah.

Counting down

Counting today only 4 more days till the craft fair.  Wouldn’t you know it, my sewing machine is having issues with free motion quilting.  Frustrating!!!!! I have had to take the free motion stitching out and now to do more of a quilting with the walking foot. Take the machine in to be checked out.  If need be I may have to dig out my old Janome. On the bright side, I do have a plan B, and plan C if I need them.

The Good Lord has a sense of humor that is for sure.  I have been in the house sewing for weeks now, most days the temperatures in the 90’s with a heat index of over 100.  This last week it has been in the 60’s and 70’s and just beautiful.  The 7 day forecast for the weather is high 80’s and 90’s with humidity and possible for rain on Saturday.  We are crossing our fingers no rain.  We will deal with whatever is thrown at us and laugh if possible.

This weekend I was able to get out and walk some.  Seeing the world from a 2 yr old’s eyes has been fun.  Seeing everything different.  We watched the ants scurry around on the sidewalk, looked at cement ducks dressed up in baseball uniforms, as big as her.  The fun and excitement over the little things is so contagious.  Makes me think about not taking so many things for granted.

Blessed Sunday

Hope everyone has a great week nest week.  We are at countdown time.  Only 5 days till the craft fair and 7 days for vacation.  This will be pretty busy, but that is good, no time for boredom.  Today the finishing of quilting the wall hanging and then finish cutting out the pieces for my Cathedral Window place mats.  I love Jenny Doan, from Missouri Star Quilts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akKU0zg-qaw tutorial.  I made some before but these I want bigger.  Might make a table runner instead.  I plan on using satin fabric for Christmas.

Mrs P, I hope the mail carrier brings you some wonderful things in the mail this week.

Everyone have a beautifully Blessed day

Parade Day

Today has nothing to do with quilting, crocheting, or any other kind of making of things.  This post is of what One Creative Family is about.  Family, and Community.  Our School District is celebrating its 150th Anniversary.  Starting with a parade, and the grand opening of All Things Independence.  This is a store owned, managed, and staffed by the 3 High Schools in Independence.  A great start to the day.  IMG_2407.JPGDestiny and grandpa waiting for the fun to begin.  She has her 2 buckets to fill with candy.

Oh What a Beautiful Day

I just goofed and posted this before I started writing. Today has been a day of gotta do.  We got those done and a few more.  Almost finished with my wall hanging, just need to add a border and put it together.  Looked at the calendar and noticed only 7 days to the craft it will be festival and then vacation.  I have so much to get done. But done or not will have a great time.

I want to say thankyou to everyone who is following us and to all of you I follow.  I am totally enjoying it and looking forward to seeing what everyone is up to.

My Firsts today

Went to the Post Office to mail our giveaway to Mrs. P and had to laugh.  We had to fill out a  US Custom’s Form.  Who is it going to, weight, detailed description, weight, cost, phone numbers, etc.  It took us longer to fill out the form than it did to drive to the Post Office.  So funny.

I am sending a picture of the wall hanging so far.  I am just struggling getting things to look right in the center.  Finally had to put it aside for a while before I wad it up and start over.  Any suggestions on lining things up so it looks like all meet together in center?IMG_20160914_075541332.jpgSo much to do and so little time.  I sound like Willy Wonka right now.  Time to get the brain uncluttered.  Time to make my lists.

Today

Today has been very productive.  I love those days. Don’t you?  When you plan something and it goes off without a hitch.  Feels great.  Got peanut brittle, jalapeno brittle, and pecan brittle ready for the sale in 2 weeks.  Working on the wall hanging now.  I won’t know what to do with my time when all this is ready.  Will be interesting to find out.

Here are some great crocheted cozies Alicia made.  I think my favorite is the purple and white one.

Giveaway

We are so happy to announce the winner of our 1st Giveaway.  The winner is…..(drum roll)…Roma1912. We are so excited to be sending her the cozies.

Today was filled with sewing.  I am making this wall hanging and just can’t seem to leave it.  What have you been doing?
