Good Morning

Such a wonderful day yesterday.  I spent the day outside and it was great.  Grass is turning green . I can’t wait for spring to finally show up.  I keep telling myself this is still February.  When not outside I finished up some microwave cozies and tortilla warmers.  Now we have these things finished up it is time to start new projects.    Ready to goimg_20170221_081820109This is one of 12 inch mini quilt. It comes with a Salsa Recipe  Thinking of putting grommets in the op to hang them.  What do you think, grommets?  A tube in the back for a rod? Or some cute clips to hang?

Enjoy your day and live it to the max today and every day.

Super Saturday

My Hubby surprised me with a trip to Missouri Star Quilts in Hamilton, Missouri.  I am sure you have seen Jenny Doan’s Youtube videos.  This is where her stores are and where she shoots her videos.  Check out her page and join the Forum.  Also  Rob Appell of Man Sew videos there also.  I found a few more pieces than I was in search of, but that is ok.

Today has been crazy but good

This has been a busy week and now it is over.  I have joined a 9 week quilt block challenge and a 9 week craft challenge.  This means shortly I will have lots of fun things to share.  What will you be doing in the next few weeks?  Tomorrow will bring me out doors.  It will be in the 70’s and I can’t wait to start getting the flowerbeds ready for spring.  I noticed today the crocuses and tulips are coming up.  On days like this I like sitting outside with some hand sewing or my paints to soak it up.

What are your favorite thing to do when the weather is nice out?  Let me hear from you about you enjoy doing on a beautiful 70 degree day.

Wednesday Wonders

Spent the morning at the Court House waiting to see if I had to serve on a jury.  Was told to come back on the 27th and the lawyers will pick  15 people out of 200 of us.  If I am chosen it will be a murder trial lasting about a week.  On the way home I got a call from my sewing machine man and my machine was ready.  It was making a noise and at first they thought it was a transformer….turned out there was lint inside.  He told me to use canned air to clean it.  Surprised me.  I was told never to do this as the air blows it into the machine.  My man said to use air and angle it up to blow lint up and out of machine.  Our hunt for a teeny tiny vacuum and there is no such thing.  BUT I have my good machine back and working perfectly.

12039122_10208832242907561_2233471587995159820_o.jpgCame across this wonderful treasure when going through some of my Mother in law’s things after her death.  We found this in a cardboard box in the basement.  My Father in law’s mother made this for him for his first Christmas.  More to come tomorrow.

Bright Tuesday

Got 3 portfolio bags made and only 9 more to go.  These are for some local artists to carry their canvases in.  Turned out pretty good.  I will post some pictures tomorrow as it is a little dark outside right now.

We are enjoying the unusually warm weather for February and spending time outdoors and trying to soak up as much sun as possible.  Blow some of those cobwebs from the brain.  This week is a week for Doctors in this family and Jury duty.  Tomorrow I will have to find some handwork to take with me to keep busy while waiting to see if I get called for a trial or not.  Great time to start something new.  Not sure if I really need a reason.   Till tomorrow all. Stay well.

Sunny Sunday

Woke up this morning to a beautiful day.  Sun shinning, squirrels playing chase around the large oak outside my sewing room window.  What can make a day much better.

Yesterday we went to a quilt show in here in town.  The quilts were pretty; although there were only a few that caught my eye.  I tend to go towards the more unusual quilts.  The choice of fabrics were wonderful.  Here are a few of my favorites.IMG_20170211_124426304.jpgIMG_20170211_124444955.jpgIMG_20170211_124619131.jpgIMG_20170211_124840905.jpgIMG_20170211_125016883.jpgSuch beautiful eye candy, and inspiration.

Fresh Friday

Today brought a beautiful 64 degrees and tomorrow promises to be even better.  I can’t believe it is the middle of February.  I can’t wait for spring and weather like this makes me want to start looking at flowers to plant.  But I have to wait a little longer.  We have started planning our next vacation.  This fall we will head South East.  Go from Missouri to the East Coast.  Once Gary plans the area a little more I will start my job of planning our stops.  Little things like Hotels, sites, Food, and the most important Quilt Shops.  Looking forward to this.

For the immediate future I will be going to a Quilt show tomorrow.  If anyone is in the Kansas City, MO area June 15,16,&17.  The Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival.  Lots of wonderful classes and great quilts.  http://kcrqf.com/  Here is the web site.  Check it out.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Where Oh Where Has The Time Gone?

Sorry I haven’t posted lately, a roller coaster of emotions and “drama” here, but looks like we are all back to our norm.  I have started making Portfolio bags for some local artists and am enjoying it.  I am using up fabric so fast I will have to make a trip to Missouri Star Quilts, or Hancock of Paduach, Ky. for a shopping spree.  Sounds fun doesn’t it?  I am slowly using up stashes I have collected over time and am ready to replace so much of it.  After visiting Hancock of Paduach last March, (I was on such an overload of wonderful fabrics), we decided to go back at least once a year.  If you haven’t been there, imagine shopping in a Warehouse of wonderfully talented designers in one place.  As you are shopping employees are filling orders.  I love it.12795375_10208707089258798_3788697840728141538_n12799255_10208707091858863_8399664996729387149_n12805740_10208707082978641_4848416700979573762_n12821533_10208707087978766_3164005044597790863_n12832544_10208707094538930_6363166401490687128_n Yep, in looking at these photos, we need to go back.  Yes, this was my cart waiting to be cut.

Memory Monday

This morning I was looking thru some pictures wanting to clean the computer up some. I found these of a few years ago.  IMG_6740.JPGMade these curtains while recovering knee replacement surgery.IMG_3902 copy.jpg This was my first attempt of taking a photo and making a wall hanging from it.  It is a Live Oak tree on my sister’s property.  IMG_9079.JPGThis is the tree.  Oh my how I have improved over the years.

img_0553Dr. Who paper pieced quilt and now for the back.img_0552 These are just a few items I have made, some good and some not so good, but great to see the differences.

Good Evening

Today I was playing and I think I am going to make more.  Grand daughter loves Bubble Guppies so here is one I made for her.  I had the face for my embroidery machine and came up with the rest.  IMG_20170204_141201738.jpgNow to see what Destiny thinks of her.  Sometimes you never know.  Now to give her a name.  Any suggestions?
