This morning today is 5 degrees with the wind chill of -18. Schools have closed so I thought I would gear this post towards what we do on COLD winter days. By 7am I will be in the kitchen putting bread dough on to rise. Nothing like hot bread and jelly on a cold day. Yum… We will have loaves of bread, peach kolaches, blueberry kolaches, and sausage kolaches. Once the dough is rising I will start in on Peanutbrittle. Each batch takes about 45 minutes from start to finish. While this is cooking I think I will start some corokies. By noon I will move to the sewing room to work on some Charity quilts.

Who can throw fabric in the trash????????? NOT me. At Quilt guild Monday night 2 bags of scraps were donated. No one wanted them so I brought them home after the lady in charge said she throws them away(she can’t store everyone else’s scraps). I sorted them into same width, colors that look good together, and have 10 gallon size bags of strips from 1/2″ wide to 4″ wide. These will go into Split Rail Fence and other scrap quilts.
Last night I finished our Walk On The Beach.

I hope everyone enjoys your day.

Love your walk on the beach!

That peanut brittle looks fantastic! I like to bake on cold days as well, although our cold days aren’t nearly as cold as yours. I do sugar free baking as my hubby controls his diabetes through diet and its amazing what you can do with the products and recipes available. Making brownies today! But sewing is my very favorite thing to do on a very wet and cold day.
